These terms are an agreement between you and Scaile Studios LLC, a Missouri limited liability company ("Scaile Studios", "we") about using Hemmed and buying a license on hemmed.app. By downloading, installing or buying Hemmed, you agree to them.

Free trial

Hemmed includes a 14-day free trial that starts the first time you open the app. When it ends, Hemmed stops hiding icons and shows all of them until you enter a license key. Your layout and settings are kept.

Buying Hemmed

A Hemmed license is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Orders are processed by Paddle, our reseller and merchant of record, so Paddle's checkout buyer terms also apply to your purchase. The price, including any sales tax or VAT, is shown at checkout. After payment, your license key is emailed to the address you gave at checkout.

Your license

Your license lets you use Hemmed on up to 3 Macs at a time that you own or control. To move it to another Mac, choose Deactivate This Mac in Settings on one you no longer use. If you can't reach that Mac, Hemmed can remove its oldest activation for you, once every 7 days.

You may not:

• share, sell or publish your license key
• remove or get around Hemmed's licensing or trial
• copy, modify or reverse engineer Hemmed, except where the law allows it

Hemmed is licensed to you, not sold. We keep all rights we don't expressly grant here.

License checks

Activating a key needs an internet connection. While Hemmed is running it confirms your license about once a day, and it keeps working offline for up to 30 days after the last successful check. After that, hiding pauses until Hemmed can check in again. See the privacy page for what these checks send.

Keys that are refunded or charged back stop working. We may also stop a key that is shared publicly or used against these terms.

Updates and macOS

We may release updates that fix problems or add features. Hemmed relies on macOS features that Apple can change, and a macOS update may change how Hemmed works. For example, on macOS 27, hiding icons also hides Focus, Now Playing and Screen Mirroring. We'll try to keep Hemmed working well on current macOS versions, but we can't promise it always will.

Warranty

Apart from the 30-day money-back guarantee described on the refunds page, Hemmed is provided "as is", without other warranties, to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for anything related to Hemmed is limited to the amount you paid for your license. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute about these terms or Hemmed will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Missouri, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction.

If you buy Hemmed as a consumer, this does not take away the protection of mandatory consumer laws where you live, and you can still bring a claim in the courts there if those laws allow it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. The terms in effect when you bought your license continue to apply to that purchase.
